
Aoife Callan is an economics PhD student based in Irish Centre for Social Gerontology at the National University of Ireland, Galway. After her B. Comm, Aoife graduated with a M.Econ. Science (Economic Policy, Evaluation and Planning) from NUIG, completing her Masters dissertation in the HSE Dublin-Mid Leinster in 2004 entitled "An economic evaluation of the Slan Abhaile pilot programme in the East Coast Area Health Board". Her current research as part of the TRIL research centre involves conducting a socio-economic evaluation of technology in the care of dependent older people and assessing the costs and benefits of technology for older people in Ireland.
