Dr Paddy Gillespie joined the ICSG as a post-doctoral researcher in economics in April 2010. Paddy completed his PhD in 2009 on “An Economic Evaluation of the Secondary Prevention of Coronary Heart Disease in General Practice” at the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway. He has researched in the fields of health economics and health technology assessment on a variety of subjects including secondary prevention, health promotion and screening across a range of areas including coronary heart disease, diabetes, multimorbidity, and infectious disease. He has also taught and contributed to a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the departments of Economics, Psychology, Health Promotion and General Practice at NUI Galway.
