11 people complete a new pilot programme at the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology

Mar 2012

Eleven people completed a new pilot programme at the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology entitled "Making Sense of Social Research". The programme is designed specifically for older people and aims to:

1.    Give participants an opportunity to understand better the key issues involved in doing social research.

2.    Familiarise participants with the research process, giving them the confidence and skills they need to develop   their own research ideas.

3.    Demonstrate how research might be used to identify service and other needs/issues of older people so that more     appropriate policy and practice interventions may be made.
