Biography: 



Patricia received degrees in International Hotel Management and Business Studies from Shannon College of Hotel Management. She then went on to study for a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Masters in Environmental and Economic Modelling at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Patricia successfully completed her PhD at the National University of Ireland, Galway with a thesis entitled “Economic Explorations of Equity Issues Across the Care Pathway in Breast Cancer.” 

Her research has appeared in Social Science and Medicine, BMJ Open and Environmental Science and Policy. Patricia has also been involved in projects with the World Bank and UN Women examining gender specific social issues in developing countries and was recently part of a team awarded a grant from the Department of International Development (DFID) to extend this research. Patricia held the position of Research Analyst at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin working on a project of healthcare reform in Ireland, funded by the Department of Health. 

Patricia is currently employed as a Post-doctoral researcher at the Irish Centre of Social Gerontology evaluating Atlantic Philanthropies investment in dementia in Ireland.
