ICSG and SPARC host community event entitled 'Changing Generations' in NUI Galway

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

To mark 2012 as the International Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, the National University of Ireland Galway and Trinity College Dublin are hosting a community event entitled ‘Changing Generations’.

‘Changing Generations’ is an NUI Galway and Trinity College Dublin collaboration aimed at exploring the state of intergenerational solidarity in Ireland. The research project intends to stimulate an informed discussion on promoting solidarity between generations among interest groups, policy makers and wider society. Stakeholders with an interest in ageing, youth, children and families, and in broad social issues have a key role to play in this discussion.

We invite organisations and their members to this event where citizens of all ages will engage in group deliberations asking ‘What can my generation contribute to the future of Ireland?’ As event is centred around the idea of Active Citizenship, we are hoping that both volunteers and ordinary members of organisations will attend.

The event will takes place from 12-4pm on the 24th of April 2012 in the Aula Maxima. Places are limited so please R.S.V.P to icsg@nuigalway.ie before Monday 16th of April.
